Your salon runs on appointments. But sometimes you want to do more than schedule treatments: a styling workshop, a product demo or an open day where people can sign up in advance. That requires something different from a regular agenda slot.
Workshops and in-person events are a smart way to attract new clients, showcase your expertise and generate extra revenue. The secret is not a separate tool or an Excel list, but a system that handles registrations, payments and communication from day one.
With events in Salontailor you plan workshops alongside your regular appointments. Clients register online, pay a deposit if needed and receive an automatic confirmation. You keep a clear overview of who is coming.

Why workshops work in your salon
A workshop is more than a busy Saturday. It is a moment when you show what you can do, bring clients closer to your brand and sometimes sell products you normally only offer at the counter.
For many salons, in-person events are a bridge between marketing and revenue:
- New faces. People who have never booked with you come in for a low-threshold moment.
- More trust. You share knowledge and show how you work, even before someone books a treatment.
- Predictable planning. With a maximum number of attendees, you know exactly how many places you need.
The difference from a standalone Facebook post? Registrations run in a structured way, payments are recorded and participants end up in your client database. No messages in your inbox you have to track manually.

Which workshops fit your salon
Think broader than the word "workshop". In Salontailor, any in-person event at your salon can use the same system:
- a styling or colour advice afternoon for existing clients;
- a product demo where participants take something home;
- an open day with limited capacity per time slot;
- an information session about a new treatment or device.
The principle stays the same: you choose a date, set a maximum number of attendees and decide whether registration is free or paid.
Setting up an in-person event
When creating an event, you fill in the title, description and optionally an image. You choose in-person event at the salon as the type, set the date, start and end time and determine the price.
Important settings:
- Maximum attendees: the maximum number of people who can register. Once that limit is reached, registration closes automatically.
- Registration opens: the date from which clients can sign up. Useful to open a workshop only after you have prepared everything.
- Deposit: optional. Clients pay part (or the full amount) online when they register.
The description you enter appears in the widget on the event card. Write clearly what participants can expect, where they need to be and what they should bring.
Registration via the booking widget
Want your workshop to be visible to everyone who books via your website? Enable Show in booking widget. As soon as registration opens, the event appears at the top of your booking widget, ahead of any active promotion.
Clients see the title, description and a clear registration button. They fill in their details, pay if needed and receive a confirmation. For them it feels just as familiar as booking a regular appointment.

Direct registration link and separate widget
Not every event belongs in your general booking widget. Sometimes you promote a workshop separately via Instagram, a newsletter or a brand partnership. For that you use the direct booking link on the event detail page.
That link opens a separate widget that shows only that event. Clients see no services or other options, only your workshop with a registration button. Ideal to share in a story, an email or on a landing page.
That way you combine the best of both worlds: your workshop optionally appears in the general widget for existing visitors, and you have a targeted link for targeted campaigns.

Deposits and paid registrations
Free events? Registration is confirmed immediately once someone signs up. Paid workshops? The client pays via Stripe or MultiSafepay during registration, once you have activated online payments.
You can choose between a full price or a deposit. Only when payment succeeds is the registration final. That protects you against no-shows and gives participants a clear confirmation of their place.

Confirmation and reminder emails
Per event you optionally set up a confirmation email and a reminder. You turn them on or off, adjust the subject and content and send a test email before registrations open.
The confirmation email goes out immediately after registration. The reminder is sent automatically the number of hours before the start that you set. Useful to remind participants of the date, time and what they need to bring.
Use shortcodes such as %%name%%, %%eventTitle%%, %%eventDate%% and %%eventLocation%% to personalise emails without typing everything manually.

Tracking registrations
On the event detail page you see who has registered: name, email, phone and registration date. New registrations also appear as a notification on your dashboard.
Participants are automatically added to your client database. That way you can invite them later for another workshop, a newsletter or a treatment that fits what they learned.
Practical tips
- Test the registration flow yourself. Go through the widget and emails as if you were a client, before you share the link.
- Choose a realistic maximum. Sold out with a waitlist feel is better than a half-empty room.
- Share the direct link strategically. On social media and in emails, the event-only link works better than "book via our website".
- Schedule your reminder on time. 24 hours in advance is often ideal for an in-person workshop.
- Follow up after the event. A short email with a treatment offer or product tip turns participants into loyal clients faster.
Conclusion: workshops without administrative chaos
Workshops do not have to be a standalone project with spreadsheets and manual payments. With events in Salontailor you handle registration, payment and communication in the same platform as your agenda and client management.
Whether you plan an open day or an exclusive styling afternoon: your participants know what to expect, and you know exactly who is coming.
